How to Get Ripped Fast

Getting ripped is a goal for many athletes; after all, who wouldn’t want to look like Brad Pitt in Fight Club, with clearly defined muscles everywhere? The problem with wanting to transform your body in this way is that most people don’t understand that the process is less about working out and building muscle then it is about losing weight, or more specifically losing body fat. In order to get the ripped look, it is necessary for men to drop their body fat percentage down to under 7 percent, and for women that percentage is under 15 percent. In both cases you are stripping your body down to essential fat.

The desire to get ripped is usually something expressed by somebody who has already been working out, doing both strength training and cardiovascular exercise so that they are generally already at a pretty good level of fitness or athleticism. Assuming that this is the case, it is unrealistic to think that you are going to substantially increase your body’s muscle mass – in fact, if you are going to go on the kind of extreme diet that is required to reduce to essential fat, then most of your exercising is going to be done to hold on to the muscle you have rather than to increase it. So the first step in getting ripped is understanding that you are not going to maintain the same weight; you are going to have to drop your fat.

Start thinking about your diet

In order to lose the amount of fat that you need to lose in order to alter your body’s muscle to fat ratio, you really need to come up with a diet that is going to maximize your body’s way of burning calories. Beyond knowing that you are taking in fewer calories then your body is burning (the golden rule of losing weight), you also need to understand which macronutrients work best for your body (proteins, carbohydrates and fat), as well as when your body is burning calories so that you know when the best times are to feed it. Most successful body builders swear by setting up a spreadsheet for their calories so that they don’t have to count them every day – when you know exactly what you’re supposed to eat each day, and at what time, you take the guesswork out of the process, and increase your chances of success. One rule of thumb is that you need to be taking in plenty of protein so that you can enhance your ability to hold on to your muscle.

Working Out

There are a number of different workout methods and exercises that can be used to build your muscle, but if you are looking to get yourself ripped, chances are that you are going to do best by choosing one of these: power lifting, circuit workouts, bodyweight lifting workouts, body building workouts, or kettle bell workouts. The reason why these particular routines are most effective is that they are all strength-training exercises that help you retain your muscle. Choose whichever one you are able to do consistently and quickly – the faster you can go from one major muscle group to the next, without too much rest in between sets, the more fat you are going to burn. For some people, adding a lot of cardiovascular exercise is essential to losing body fat, while others are able to drop excess fat simply by modifying their diet. If you are one of those that needs to do a high-energy burning cardio routine in order to lose weight, it is highly recommended that you incorporate a High Impact Interval Training workout, which has you working at higher intensity intermittently; it has been shown to be the most effective way of losing fat quickly.

Be Realistic

If you haven’t been working out previously, you actually are more likely to be successful more quickly then somebody who already has been working out; this is because for somebody who has already built muscle, their challenge is in losing the body fat. However, when you are building muscle at the same time that you are losing fat your results will be more evident more quickly. Regardless of your level of fitness it is important to be realistic about your goal and understand what you are trying to achieve. Dropping several percentage points of your body fat ratio is not an easy thing to do, and it is not always a healthy thing to do either. Make sure that you are giving yourself enough time to do it in a controlled way rather than trying to drop a lot of weight at once. If you try to lose weight too quickly by starving yourself, your body will burn your muscle for energy and you will end up losing the muscle that you’ve worked so hard to build.

Want more information?

When looking to build muscle, it can be hard to find the right information for you. There is a lot of general information out there about foods to eat and workout routines. But when building muscle it is important to get information that is right for your body. General information will not work as well. Ideally you could work with a nutritionist to find out the best diet and exercise routine to follow. However, this can soon get quite pricey.

That is why some people have found the Somanabolic Muscle Maximizer to be helpful. This is a program created by Kyle Leon, a fitness model. He had spent years trying to improve his own physique, gathering a lot of knowledge. He later took all this knowledge and bundled it into this muscle building program. The program includes some software which allows a user to enter personal details and outputs a custom tailored plan for muscle building.
